Parents and teachers association for Nachitheme secondary has closed the school temporarily, following a letter the students issued on Monday raised threats of a possible vandalism.
The students were sent packing tuesday afternoon asked to come back on monday with parents.
Moses Masiye visited the school tuesday evening and found heavy police presence.
In the petition, male students were pressing authorities to lift a ban that restrict them to attend night studies, amid administration outcry of increased sexual relationships.
This comes barely two days after students set ablaze and vandalised Ntcheu secondary school in the same district, a move that prompted students at Nachitheme secondary threaten to vandalise the school come seven days, if a ban for boys to have studies with girls is not lifted.
Nachitheme secondary school headteacher Andrew Kagwale confirmed receipt of the threat saying they called for police and district education officials to intervene.
